Fostering creative convergence talents with global capabilities

To foster creative convergence talents required by future society, our department transcends interdisciplinary boundaries and pursues communication and convergence among academic fields.

Moving away from traditional single engineering major education, we have established a multidisciplinary convergence major curriculum consisting of mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, and biomedical engineering, and are operating advanced major tracks specialized in biomedical engineering and intelligent robots.

The advanced major tracks in cutting-edge fields that our department focuses on are as follows. Students who complete each advanced track can receive a diploma and a separate certificate called a [Nano Degree], which can serve as proof of in-depth study of their primary major when seeking employment.

As the demand for experts equipped with core competencies in the rapidly developing key fields of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is steadily increasing, our Dept. of Biomedical & Robotics Engineering is actively conducting industry-academia collaboration-centered research projects to support the employment of our graduates. Furthermore, for students who aspire to a career as a researcher, we provide a concrete roadmap for growth as scholars, such as postdoctoral researchers, researchers at national research institutes, and university professors, following their graduate studies.
