Introduction
Social welfare is the totality of organized social activities that support members of society in meeting their basic needs and resolve social problems, and social welfare studies is an applied discipline that understands welfare issues at the individual, family, group, community, and national levels, and researches and practices solutions to them.
The Department of Social Welfare at Incheon National University aims to contribute to the construction of a welfare society by fostering professional social welfare personnel capable of addressing the basic needs of community members and solving social problems. To this end, the department offers diverse educational programs designed to enable students to combine theory and practice in social welfare. These programs allow students to acquire knowledge of the fundamental philosophy, policies, administration, and services of social welfare, and to cultivate a critical perspective on social phenomena and various social issues. Furthermore, the department provides opportunities to gain field experience by visiting and observing various social welfare sites to identify areas of interest.
