The Dept. of Fashion Industry at Incheon National University was established within the College of Natural Sciences in 1989 as the Dept. of Clothing and Lifestyle, and after changing its name to the Dept. of Fashion Industry in 2002, it continues to develop with the goal of fostering global fashion professionals. To cultivate fashion professionals equipped with creativity, practicality, and international competence, the Department sets its educational goals on developing broad knowledge of the fashion industry as a whole, practical skills, and on-the-job experience, as well as cultivating the international sensibility necessary for the global fashion market.

Since holding its first graduation fashion show in 1992, the university has hosted an annual show. It has also operated various exchange and industry-academia cooperation programs with fashion-related universities and companies in China, including Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, and is committed to strengthening students' global capabilities through overseas exchange student and internship programs. Furthermore, to provide education closely aligned with the real world, the university operates diverse industry-academia cooperation programs such as domestic internships, industry mentoring, and extracurricular workshops.

The Dept. of Fashion Industry at Incheon National University has been selected for the university's internal specialization project and is currently conducting the Digital Fashion Innovation specialization project. Based on a motivated faculty, a substantial curriculum, and state-of-the-art educational facilities and equipment, the Department operates various extracurricular programs in addition to the specialization project to foster professional talent capable of playing a pivotal role in the domestic and international fashion industry, and is participating in undergraduate liên majors and the graduate Dept. of Beauty Industry.
