2025 Strategic Communication Contest – Department of Mass Communication, INU
On May 30, the Department of Mass Communication at Incheon National University (INU) successfully held the “2025 Strategic Communication Marketing Contest” in collaboration with local pharmaceutical company Kyungbang Pharm at the university’s Faculty Club. The event demonstrated the value of regional cooperation and created a platform where local universities and businesses could continue to generate shared social value.
The contest centered on developing promotional strategies for Kyungbang Pharm’s new product, Enop One-Minute Balance. Over the course of a month, 15 teams composed of 51 students from the department actively engaged with the company to explore creative marketing solutions.
Participants proposed innovative promotional ideas such as scoreboard ads at baseball stadiums, bus exterior advertisements, and the distribution of cooling patches at festivals. The contestants received feedback from a panel of judges that included faculty members and Kyungbang Pharm employees, enhancing their practical skills as aspiring advertising professionals.
What made the event even more notable was that it was entirely student-led. The planning team, IN:MARK—composed of students from various academic years (from class of ‘23 to ‘19)—took the initiative as early as January, reaching out to multiple companies to conceptualize and organize the contest.
Professor Woo-Hyun Yoo, Chair of the Department of Mass Communication at INU, commented, “This contest is one of our department’s signature events. Once again, our students demonstrated exceptional creativity and initiative by leading every stage of the contest—from topic development and company outreach to event management. We hope this experience further highlights the department’s strength in fostering talent with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.”
Lim Ji-Young, Marketing Team Leader at Kyungbang Pharm, also shared her thoughts: “This contest gave us the opportunity to rediscover our brand through the fresh and unique perspectives of INU students. It was a valuable experience that allowed us to see Enop in a new and different light.”
