A total of eight students from Incheon National University (President Lee In-Jae) have passed the 2025 National Regional Talent Grade-7 Trainee Recruitment Examination, marking the highest number of successful candidates in the university’s history since the implementation of the nationwide recommendation-based recruitment system by the Ministry of Personnel Management.
This milestone is seen as a tangible outcome of the university’s expanded career and employment support programs specifically tailored for students preparing for the regional talent civil service track.
The Regional Talent Grade-7 Trainee System, managed by the Ministry of Personnel Management, selects outstanding students recommended by universities nationwide. Candidates undergo a three-stage process: a written exam (1st stage), document screening (2nd stage), and interview (3rd stage), ultimately leading to appointment as Grade-7 general civil servants.
In this year’s selection, six INU students were accepted in the administrative track, while two were accepted in the science and technology track.
The successful candidates will begin their one-year trainee period in 2026 at various central government ministries. Upon completion of a final review, they will be formally appointed as Grade-7 civil servants.
A representative from INU’s Career Development Center stated, “We continuously develop and run tailored programs in consultation with past examinees to support students preparing for the regional talent selection track. The success of these eight students reflects the impact of our efforts. We will continue to provide systematic support so that more students are empowered to pursue careers in public service.”
The Regional Talent Recommendation-Based Recruitment System was introduced in 2005 with the goal of enhancing regional representation in the civil service and promoting balanced national development. It has since become a key pathway to government careers, especially for students from regional national universities.
