인Incheon National University’s Lifelong Learning Center “TriVersity” Successfully Hosts Guest Lecture by Daniel Lindemann
On Wednesday, May 14 at 7:00 PM, Incheon National University’s TriVersity Lifelong Learning Center hosted a guest lecture featuring broadcaster Daniel Lindemann at the Grand Auditorium of Building 23 on the Songdo Campus. The event, titled “A Message of Peace from a Young German – Insights from Daniel Lindemann,” was held successfully with an audience of over 200 people, including Incheon citizens and members of the university community.
The event was jointly organized by INU TriVersity, the Institute for Unification and Integration Studies, and Haksan Library, as part of the university’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and expanding access to lifelong education.
In his lecture, Daniel Lindemann offered insights into the background and process of German reunification, discussing both the costs and the benefits. Drawing on Germany’s experience, he highlighted key implications for peace and reunification on the Korean Peninsula. He particularly emphasized the importance of mutual understanding and respect, free from prejudice, as a prerequisite for any reunification efforts.
Following the lecture, a lively Q&A session took place, during which participants asked about post-reunification social changes and systemic conflicts in Germany, demonstrating strong engagement and interest.
One attendee remarked, “Despite the complexity of topics like peace and reunification, Daniel’s sincerity, affection for Korea, and deep understanding allowed for a truly meaningful and relatable experience.”
Director Ha Byung-hoon of INU TriVersity commented, “This lecture offered citizens a valuable opportunity to reflect on peace and reunification in their everyday lives. Going forward, we aim to continue providing meaningful peace and civic education programs that connect the university with the broader community through lifelong learning.”
