Incheon National University Law Students, "Rep. Park Joo-min, thank you for your hard work."
On the last day of March 2025, Incheon National University's law students and lawmaker Park Joo-min met. In addition, a feast of collective intelligence and logic unfolded in communication between young law students who dream of becoming legal professionals in the future and lawmaker Park Joo-min, a lawyer-turned-lawyer and active member of the National Assembly, and their meeting became a "messenger of the new spring" to overcome the cold snap.
Park Joo-min appeared as the second batter of the Incheon National University Law major career special lecture series held at the seminar room on the 3rd floor of the Incheon National University Faculty Center on March 31 (Monday), and the students welcomed him with a warm round of applause.
Due to the lack of seats in the 140-seat special lecture hall, the audience of about 30 people stood up and listened to Park Joo-min, who moved freely to the audience rather than the stage podium all the time and shared eyes and breath with the audience.
The theme of the special lecture on this day is "Constitution, Democracy, and the Shape of Lawyers," which is designed to listen to active politicians' views on the realization of the rule of law for social integration, as well as comprehensive insights on the value and role of the Constitution as the basis and measure of our society.
In addition, it has become a place to look at the law from the "public eye level and common sense" required of current legal professionals, and to openly talk about the sense of ethics and mission to practice fairness and justice.
In addition, Park Joo-min, the current chairman of the National Assembly's Health and Welfare Committee, was asked a variety of questions from the audience, including the establishment of a public medical school at Incheon National University, the solution to the number of medical schools, the reform of the national pension, the activities of the National Assembly's standing committee, political issues, and trust in the law, and Park Joo-min spoke candidly.
"Today, many people hear that politicians are less productive. And there are certain difficulties in improving the national system by creating a social system that responds to social change. To solve this problem, I believe that attempts to revise the constitution should be made beyond the hurdles that exist in reality."
"There are probably students in the School of Law of Incheon National University who want to become future legal professionals, right? I have a lot of shameful experiences seeing the elite legal professionals in our society today. I think it is necessary to constantly reflect on those who are involved in the legal profession, including myself. I hope that the role of law in public interest activities and pursuit of private interests will be considered, and that essential exploration of social phenomena and the training of one's own values will continue."
"I hope that the students here today will learn how to use the National Assembly, free from vague or abstract animosity toward politicians, and deliver your various opinions and complaints in real life to advance our lives. I hope politics and reality will not reject each other, but to communicate constantly and make our democracy more solid."
On this day, Park Joo-min's special lecture, free questions, and responses were not allowed for a second, and students were lined up to ask fierce discussions and questions.
In addition, Incheon National University School of Law students gave warm support to lawmaker Park Joo-min, who was a great student, saying, "I was completely deceived," and had a good time participating in photo time.
Jeong Ji-min, a student at Incheon National University's School of Law who participated in the special lecture, said, "The fierce and honest story of lawmaker Park Joo-min, who is famous as a beggar lawyer, resonated in my heart," adding, "I have come to ponder the role and meaning of the law in the field of legislation and justice while erasing the vague antipathy against politicians I thought of as narrow-minded."
Ha Ji-hae, president of Incheon National University School of Law, said, "I am grateful for the good influence of social celebrities participating in the major career lecture series, and I am full of pride."
With the participation of former lawmaker Yoo Seung Min and lawmaker Park Joo-min, the career special lecture series for the School of Law at Incheon National University is now over the middle of the 2025 school year. The next batter is a warm-hearted person, a honey voice, and a high tension who never returns under the sky. Former KBSN announcer Kang Sung-chul will visit the law department of Incheon National University to participate in the special lecture series at 2 p.m. on May 1.
