Researcher Geonah Kim and Professor Kangjoo Lee of Incheon National University
Geonah Kim, a researcher in the Translational Bio-Microfabrication Laboratory of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Incheon National University (advisor: Professor Kangjoo Lee), has been awarded the Outstanding Dissertation Award in the Bioengineering Division of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers (KSME).
This award is presented to outstanding master's or doctoral theses in the field of mechanical engineering related to bioengineering. Kim received the award for the thesis titled “Development of a Microneedle Stent to Prevent Intravascular Dislodgement.” The study focused on developing a microneedle stent (MNS) capable of stable fixation within blood vessels. By forming a microneedle (MN) array on the surface of a conventional PCL stent, the research aimed to enhance the anchoring effect of the stent and address the issue of stent dislodgement.
