INU School of Law Embraces May with Career Talks, Court Tours, Sports Festivals — and Even Giant Kimbap and KBO Bread

After a vibrant start to the semester in March — with the celebration of the School of Law’s 45th anniversary, a series of career lectures, a field trip to the Incheon District Prosecutors’ Office, a book support program for self-development, an MT coffee truck, and senior-junior networking events — the INU School of Law is now diving headfirst into May with even more enriching and exciting programs.

As midterm exams are underway, law students are studying hard in the library, deeply immersed in their legal texts and honing their expertise. But beyond exams, a lineup of programs focused on professional growth, hands-on legal exposure, campus spirit, and community bonding awaits — ready to fill May with meaning, memories, and pride.

On Thursday, May 1 at 2 PM, announcer Seongcheol Kang will visit INU for the third lecture in the School of Law’s career talk series. Sharing his personal story of becoming a sports caster after majoring in physical education, his lecture titled “Life as a Sports Caster: Stories I Want to Tell on Air” aims to inspire law students exploring diverse career paths.

The following day, Friday, May 2 at 2 PM, students will take part in a field trip to the Incheon District Court. This visit follows a March trip to the Incheon District Prosecutors’ Office and will include a court tour, live courtroom observation, and a Q&A with a judge — all part of the school’s efforts to deepen students’ understanding of the legal field and real-world practice.

On Wednesday, May 14, the School of Law will team up with the Colleges of Business, Social Sciences, and Northeast Asian International Trade and Logistics for a joint sports festival.

Competitions in soccer, basketball, dodgeball, tug-of-war, and kickball promise heated matches and passionate cheering. As a special treat, the School of Law will distribute “forearm-sized gimbap” from an on-campus eatery run by an alumnus, symbolizing alumni support and school spirit.

Wrapping up the career lecture series, announcer Kwangyong Lee will visit on Wednesday, May 21 at 3 PM. A member of KBS’s 29th announcer class, Lee is a well-known broadcaster from shows like “Walking the World,” “History Journal That Day,” “The Live,” and “Lee Kwangyong’s Yelka.” His talk is expected to be a meaningful finale to the lecture series.

Finally, on Tuesday, May 27, law students will attend a professional baseball game at Incheon SSG Landers Field to watch the SSG Landers face off against the NC Dinos. This outing — planned as part of the School’s initiative to strengthen regional identity and community engagement — will include snacks and the now-famous “KBO Bread,” adding a fun and delicious element to the experience.

Professor Choonghoon Lee, Dean of the School of Law, shared his thoughts:
"We are committed to helping students study hard, explore their career paths, and create unforgettable memories during their campus years. All of these values are what INU School of Law stands for — and we look forward to all the moments our students will experience this May."
