Incheon National University (President Jong-Tae Park) announced that it held a fundraising campaign on campus from April 16 to 21 to support victims of the recent earthquake in Myanmar. The campaign was a humanitarian initiative voluntarily planned and carried out by the Office of International Affairs, the International Student Support Council (ISSC), and Myanmar students currently enrolled at the university.
The donations collected will be delivered through the international relief organization Save the Children and used to provide emergency livelihood and medical aid to communities affected by the disaster in Myanmar.
Myat Phwe Zin, a Myanmar student in her fourth year majoring in Media and Communication, expressed her gratitude, saying, "Even though many people in Korea are also struggling due to wildfires, we are deeply thankful to everyone who empathized with the pain of the people in Myanmar. Your warmhearted support brings great comfort and strength."
A university representative stated, "This fundraising campaign is a meaningful example of our students voluntarily practicing solidarity and sharing as members of the global community. We will continue to support various humanitarian initiatives and provide opportunities to foster global citizenship."
